Before Karen Allen was diagnosed with cancer, she did not ride a motorcycle. But after her diagnosis, the self-described middle-aged mother-of-two found riding helped her cope.
The Wenatchee woman will be in Seattle Tuesday, April 3 from 4-6 p.m. at Shine, the SCCA cancer specialty store in South Lake Union. Allen will join author, Tamela Rich, who will sign her book, “Live full Throttle: Life Lessons from Friends who Faced Cancer.” Allen is in one chapter of that book. Both women will be at the residence house, SCCA House, from 6:30-7:30 p.m. for a discussion that is open to the public.
Please pre-register by signing up at the Guest Services Desk (at the SCCA Clinic) or by calling 206-288-6701 to RSVP
Read a feature story about Allen’s diagnosis and philosophy. She participated in a clinical trial led by SCCA’s Ajay Gopal, MD.

Great story!
Good for her for finding a passion and dictating the terms of her life. Kudos for raising the money that she and Flo have!

Karen is my friend and inspiration. I met her on while we were both on the back of a motorcycle and fundraising to kick cancer to the curb. She has a gift for living. She will warm your heart, make your cry, and leave your laughing. Rock on, Karen!
