Summer is the season for getting out there! Seattle Cancer Care Alliance is doing it, too. We participate in events as a sponsor and then other events actually raise money for cancer research that comes back to SCCA – which is very cool.
In the next two months there are some fun events we’ll be participating in and we’d love to see you there, either as a Team SCCA member, event volunteer, or in the cheering squad on the sidelines.
Coming up next is…
Seattle Dragon Boat Festival, which takes place on Saturday, July 28 at South Lake Union Park in Seattle. Come out to support Team Survivor Northwest and cheer on the SCCA Dragon Boat Team!
After that is…
The LUNGevity Foundation Breathe Deep Seattle 5K. It’s happening on Saturday, August 11 at West Seattle’s Lincoln Park. Breathe Deep Seattle is a 5K timed run, fun run, and walk to raise funds for lung cancer research and support. SCCA’s Dr. Renato Martins will be a featured speaker at the event and Dr. Laura Chow is the captain of Team SCCA. Join Team SCCA at this event!
Next will be…
Swim Across America Seattle, benefiting SCCA. This is a very cool event that has done amazing things raising money for very important research at SCCA. The event takes place on Saturday, September 8 at Luther Burbank Park on Mercer Island. There are two swims: a long and short, and a kid’s splash swim. Join Team SCCA as a swimmer or volunteer!
Finally…
Do the Puyallup Walk to Beat Breast Cancer, benefiting SCCA. This is a brand new event. It’ll take place on Saturday, September 22 at the Puyallup Fairgrounds in Puyallup, of course. It’s a 5K, non-competitive walk to celebrate survivors and champion breast cancer awareness. Please join us for the first annual Do the Puyallup Walk to Beat Breast Cancer! Register to walk 5K or be a volunteer at www.dothepuyallupwalk.org.
