Check this out: Super Kid: Taking charge against cancer is an article in the Everett Herald about Allison Holbrook, a young woman who organized a “Dig for the Cure” event at Lynnwood High School to benefit breast cancer research as her senior project.
Allison shadowed her mentor, one of our co-workers here at Seattle Cancer Care Alliance, for her project. The daughter of a breast cancer survivor, Allison reminds us that you don’t have to be over 40 to get involved in breast cancer awareness. Make your Mammogram Promise today!
And for those who aren’t yet 40 (and even for those of us who are) consider joining us for Beats For Boobs next weekend, on Saturday, October 13 at Seattle’s one and only The Crocodile.
The Beats for Boobs™ folks put together a very special evening featuring brilliant local DJs, artists, fashion designers, and eateries. All will be on-hand to entertain you next weekend. A fast, fun video from last year’s event will show you what you can expect this year. Beats for Boobs is a 100 percent volunteer organization. Proceeds from ticket entrance, merchandise sales, donations, raffle tickets, and sponsorships will go towards supporting two Seattle-based organizations: Young Survival Coalition and Seattle Cancer Care Alliance!
