Cold and flu season is at its peak. Dr. Steve Pergam, director of infection control at Seattle Cancer Care Alliance, will be hosting a Facebook Live broadcast at 10:45 a.m., Tuesday to talk about reducing the spread of cold and flu to cancer patients and their families.
Join Pergam in an open discussion on how to reduce the risk of exposure and infection. Questions during the live broadcast are encouraged and can be entered in the comments sections of the Facebook Live video.
At SCCA, patients, family members and staff partner in using these best practices to reduce and prevent the spread of disease:
– Cleaning hands often and avoiding touching one’s face.
– Avoiding crowds when possible.
– Informing doctors if a patient begins to show symptoms and wearing a mask while in the clinic.
– Avoiding bringing children under the age of 12 in the clinic, unless they are a patient.
